Clean Eating Chili

Using a very lean ground turkey or chicken you can make chili very “clean eating’ friendly.   Here’s my favorite recipe.

Ingredients

2 pound ground turkey (chicken or beer)
1 chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon basil, dried
1 tablespoon oregano, dried
8 ounce tomato sauce, canned
2 canS tomatoes, diced
1 can kidney beans, drained
4 tablespoon chili powder
2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 tablespoon cumin
water to desired thickness

Instructions

In a large pot place 2 pounds of lean ground turkey (chicken or beef) and enough water to cover the meat. You are going to boil the meat, it gives it a better texture. After the meat is cooked add the onions and garlic. Cook for about 5 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and enough water to desired thickness. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and cook for about 3 hours.
